A day before its quarterfinals clash versus Converge, TNT was finally able to put a close to one of its lingering problems.
Mikey Williams finally signed on the dotted line, extending his contract with the Tropang Giga for three more years.
Williams signed his contract on Tuesday morning with team manager Jojo Lastimosa.
The 30-year-old combo guard had a clause in his rookie contract that he can renegotiate his two-year deal if he led TNT to a championship.
Williams was able to power TNT to the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup and he activated the clause after the season.
The negotiations between the two camps started off turbulent with Williams missing the first five games of TNT in the ongoing Philippine Cup.
TNT forced its hand on Williams early last month, stating that Williams still has to honor his existing contract.
Williams played his first game on June 23.
The reigning scoring champion is currently averaging 21.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per contest.
Williams technically signed a four-year deal as his new contract will take effect this season. He will be locked to TNT until PBA Season 50.
