SOURCES: La Salle looking at Nash Racela to be next head coach

A decorated tactician may be making his way back home.

Nash Racela is one of the candidates to take the post of the De La Salle University Green Archers, according to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation.

One of the sources added that La Salle’s new management and Racela, who graduated from La Salle back in 1991, have already spoken.

If a meeting of the minds happen, Racela, 47, will be making his return to the collegiate game after four years.

Two years after steering Far Eastern University to the UAAP Season 78 Men’s Basketball Championship, Racela was tapped to be the head coach of PBA club TNT.

He spent almost two years with TNT, helping bring the Katropa to a Finals appearance during the 2017 Commissioner’s Cup.

His run with the Katropa ended after five games in the 2018 Governors’ Cup. Racela had a 36-24 record in the elims and 32-15 slate in the playoffs.

During Season 82, Nash served as an assistant coach to his brother Olsen in FEU. He is also an assistant coach to his good pal Eric Gonzales in MPBL club Iloilo.

On the other hand, Danny Seigle will no longer be the team’s director of basketball operations.

The Green Archers missed the Final Four for the second straight year in Season 82, finishing fifth with an even 7-7 slate.
