Rogen Ladon advances to Men’s Flyweight finale

One down, two to go.

In the first of three semifinals for Team Pilipinas, Filipino flyweight Rogen Ladon took a dominant unanimous decision win over Yuttapong Tongdee of Thailand, 5-0, Friday afternoon at the JIExpo – Hall C in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Ladon will take on Jasurpek Latipov of Uzbekistan on Saturday, September 1.

For the tournament, Ladon, who competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics, has won three of his four matches by way of unanimous decision. This one was clearly lopsided as four of the judges scored it 30-27. Athmane Lazizi of Algeria had it 29-28.

Ladon’s two teammates Eumir Marcial (middleweight) and Carlo Paalam (light flyweight) will still compete later on.
