SEA Games: Rogen Ladon retains flyweight crown

Rogen Ladon remains the Southeast Asian Games’ flyweight king.

The 28-year-old successfully retained his crown after defeating Vietnam’s Tran Van Thao, 3-2, in the final of the minus-51kg division, Sunday at Bac Ninh Gymnasium in Vietnam.

The native of Bago, Negros Occidental bested Thailand’s Ammarit Yaodam during the games held in the Philippines three years ago.

This is his third medal in the biennial meet as well, winning silver in 2015.

With Ladon’s gold, the Philippines hiked its gold medal tally to 49.
