Eumir Marcial’s dominance in the Southeast Asian Games continues.
The 26-year-old Zamboangueno completed his dominant campaign, needing just one round to dispatch of Timor Leste’s Delio Anzaqeci Mouzinho via referee’s stoppage in the 31st SEA Games’ middlweight boxing final, Sunday at Bắc Ninh Gymnasium in Vietnam.
Marcial, a pro, outclassed his opponent, connecting on stinging jabs. At the 83-second mark, Marcial hit a straight that forced a standing eight count.
Though Mouzinho was able to continue, Marcial put on the finishing touches for the stoppage win.
This is Marcial’s fourth gold medal in the regional meet, also winning in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and the Philippines.
The Philippines now has 51 golds in the competition.
