Overtime Elite will begin its inaugural season from October 31-November 4 (Manila time) with the Prep Challenge set to take place at the state-of-the-art OTE Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
However, the league’s Filipino player Lebron Lopez will not make it.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, the 18-year-old is still in Manila waiting for his papers to travel to the United States.
The Prep Challenge is certainly an experience Lopez did not want to miss.
Prep Challenges are 40-minute games where three external teams will compete against our three OTE teams over two days.
On October 31 and November 1, the three OTE teams will face Vertical Academy, KT Kings, and Phillips Basketball Club.
Then on November 2 and 3, they take on Combine Academy, Winston Salem Christian, and Liberty Heights.
Lopez was selected to be part of Tim Fanning’s team that also has 6-foot-8 power forward Matt Bewley, 6-foot-4 shooting guard TJ Clark, 6-foot-3 shooting guard De’Vontes Cobbs, 6-foot-10 power forward Tyler Smith, 6-foot-6 point guard Amen Thompson, 5-foot-10 point guard Johned Walker, and 6-foot-8 power forward Kok Yat.
On November 10, 13, and 17, OTE will hold its first three league series competitions.
The League Series games are 20 minute games among the three squads.
