Farm Fresh has reinforced its frontline by signing former Capital1 middle blocker Des Clemente-De Guzman for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League season, the team announced Friday morning.
De Guzman, a former Best Middle Blocker awardee in the league, spent two seasons and three conferences with the Solar Spikers, having been with the team since its inception in early 2024.
The 30-year-old veteran is now about to join her fourth professional club, following previous stints with F2 Logistics and Petro Gazz.
“You’ve probably seen her in some of the Foxies’ IG stories, but today we make it official: Welcome to the Farm Fresh family, Des Clemente-De Guzman! Exciting times ahead as our frontline becomes a little taller with you and Alohi!” the team shared in a Facebook post.
Standing at six feet, De Guzman will reinforce a middle blocker unit that already features 6-foot Lorene Toring and 5-foot-9 Rizza Cruz. Her length and experience at the net are expected to elevate the team’s blocking and quick attack options.
Farm Fresh further bolstered its roster during the recent draft by acquiring 6-foot-3 playmaker Alohi Robins-Hardy. Though a setter, Robins-Hardy’s height and international experience are expected to be game-changers on both ends of the court.
The team also selected former Far Eastern University libero Ann Monares to strengthen its floor defense.
The Foxies are aiming for a bounce-back season after a disappointing campaign in the 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference, where they failed to make it past the play-in and settled for a 10th-place finish.
