After a grueling campaign with PLDT, Savannah Davison has opted out of joining the Alas Pilipinas pool to prioritize recovery and spend time with her family in Canada.
The Fil-Canadian spiker was included in the 33-player wish list of Alas Pilipinas set to undergo tryouts for the national team’s lineup in upcoming tournaments, including the 6th AVC Challenge Cup for Women, the 5th Southeast Asian V. League, and the Southeast Asian Games.
Davison said she will head back to Canada for the next month and be ‘far from volleyball’ as much as she can before rejoining PLDT for the PVL’s next conference.
“Maybe in a little bit, maybe in December when December comes. But right now, it’s just not my priority,” said Davison. “We just came off of a really long conference, plus the AVC, so I’m getting to get as far from volleyball as I can for the next month and then maybe dabble on it.
“But right now, it’s not on my list for at least this moment.”
Davison has already had a packed start to the year, competing in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference from November to April.
Her schedule grew even more demanding when the High Speed Hitters stepped in as a last-minute replacement for Japan’s NEC Red Rockets in the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League.
PLDT’s campaign in the Champions League came to an end on Thursday after losing to Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu VC in straight sets, 13-25, 22-25, 20-25, in the quarterfinals at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
