The return of the Pacific Xtreme Combat to Manila was supposed to be headlined by a double main event featuring two championship fights. However, three of the four main eventers missed weight resulting to the two championship bouts becoming non-title fights.
PXC Flyweight Champion Alvin Cacdac weighed in at 127 lbs while Cris Pitpitunge weighed 126 lbs. In title fights, both the champion and the challenger must weigh in at the exact weight of the division or less. The Games and Amusement Board gave both men an hour to cut the weight but both fighters refused to do so. As a result, the PXC Flyweight Championship has been relegated to just a catchweight bout (237 lbs)
On the other hand, Rolando Dy had a tough time making the bantamweight limit. Dy even shaved his hair just to try to make weight but to no avail. Dy weigh-in at 135.5 lbs. PXC Bantamweight Champion Kyle Aguon was the only one who made weight amongst all the main eventers at 134 lbs. Aguon even made a threat to Dy during the stare down saying “I’m gonna break you down!” right in front of Dy. The fight is now just a three-round grudge match.
