PVL: Trisha Tubu’s commanding presence leads Farm Fresh to resounding sweep of Chery

Farm Fresh pulled the upset rug from under Chery Tiggo in a tight three-set encounter, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16, for its second win in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, Saturday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.

Louie Romero flaunted her playmaking brilliance, dishing out 27 excellent sets to go along with two points in just an hour and 36 minutes of action to help the Foxies secure their second victory of the conference.

“For me, super happy ako kasi nakuha namin ‘yung panalo in straight set. And nakita namin na maganda ‘yung program ngayon. Nagko-contribute talaga ‘yung bawat isa sa ‘min para maayos ‘yung galaw namin,” said Romero as Farm Fresh tied the Crossovers at the sixth spot with identical 2-2 records.

After squeaking past the struggling Chery Tiggo in the first two sets, the Foxies stepped on the gas pedal in the third frame and surged to a 17-10 advantage after the second technical timeout after back-to-back errors from the opposing side.

The Crossovers eventually cut the deficit to five, 15-20, before Caitlyn Viray connected on two consecutive attacks to take the fight out of Chery Tiggo before Trisha Tubu and Chinnie Arroyo delivered the finishing blows.

“Yung past games po kasi namin ano ‘yung game ko. So mga coaches po namin and si Tito Frank (Lao) lagi po kaming nire-remind na lumaban lang at wag matakot tsaka tibayan sa court, puso,” said Tubu.

Tubu spearheaded the offensive attack for Farm Fresh with 18 points while Arroyo and Rizza Cruz provided 11 and nine points, respectively.
