Despite winning a clean 2-0 sweep against RSG Slate Philippines and earning a pair of MVPs during the series, Blacklist International star roamer Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna is far from satisfied with her performance on the signature Estes pick.
“Siguro it’s a 5 out of 10 for me. Para sa akin kasi hindi pa yun yung [best] game ko,” she said when asked about her performance.
In Game 1, Estes’ Blessing of the Moon saved a low-hp Lee Howard “Owl” Gonzales (Brody) who was caught in the middle of a Noumenon Blast set-up from the enemy Lolita.
The timely release of Estes’ ultimate skill during that sequence helped Blacklist secure the Luminous Lord and cap off the opening game win with another Blessing of the Moon execution during the base turret aggression.
The story was the same in Game 2 as Estes played a key role during a 14th-minute stretch where Edward “Edward” Dapadap (Arlott) nearly succumbed to death when he initiated a backline attack.
However, OhMyV33NUS’s accurate execution of the Blessing of the Moon saved him, providing Blacklist enough space to fend off RSG’s aggression and secure the Luminous Lord en route to the win.
In total, the Queen compiled a total of one kill and 21 assists while only conceding two deaths during the two-game series.
According to OhMyV33NUS, one of the key factors in the team’s stellar performance as of late is their familiarity with Owl, who was part of the Blacklist squad that took home the gold medal during last year’s Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.
“Siguro yung comms kasi mas may experience si Owl compared to Red. Mas maayos yung communication ngayon,” she said when asked about the difference between the switch of Owl and Jon Redick “Super Red” Bordeos in the roster.
OhMyV33NUS and the rest of Blacklist will try to contest for the upper bracket slot in Week 8 as they face Bren Esports and Nexplay Evos.
