There were no ill feelings for new Perpetual Altas slotman Ben Adamos when he battled his former team San Beda in the 2019 PBA D-League on Thursday afternoon. He was even glad to meet them once again.
Back in March of 2018, the 6-foot-6 Adamos decided to leave Mendiola for Las Piñas following the dip of his playing time in the NCAA Season 93. At the time, Red Lions were relying more on Arnaud Noah and Donald Tankoua.
In the first time he shared the court with the Red Lions again, Adamos and his San Beda counterparts shared plenty of laughs.
“Masaya,” said Adamos, who won two NCAA titles with San Beda.
But Adamos and Perpetual were less happy about the result. The Altas absorbed a 75-85 defeat at the hands of the San Beda-powered Metropac Movers, spoiling their season debut.
For Adamos, the result only showed that the Altas still have more work to do.
Parang ‘di pa kami masyadong nakapaghanda,” rued Adamos, who had 16 points, three rebounds, and two blocks in the game.
Kapaan muna kami.”
Adamos is eligible to play in Season 95 of the Grand Old League. And even this early, he is already looking to how he will deliver for his new team, as advised by head coach Frankie Lim.
Kasi nung sa Beda ako, limited lang ginagawa ko,” the 22-year-old big man said.
