The San Beda Red Lions’ tall frontline is set to lose one of its pieces
Ben Adamos has asked the brass of the Red Lions for his releas,e as he wants to continue his pursuit to receive a degree in Maritime Studies, according to team manager Jude Roque.
“He said he wanted to continue his Maritime course, which he started in TIP. So he is likely moving to a school that offers this course,” Roque said.
A source closely monitoring the situation revealed that the 6-foot-6 stretch big man is transferring to University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, an NCAA school that offers the course he wants.
During his stay in San Beda, he posted a career average of 4.03 points and 2.6 rebounds.
It was during his NCAA Season 92 campaign that he stepped up. After Donald Tankoua was sidelined due to a torn ACL, Adamos came up big in his absence.
However, the 22-year-old struggled to find consistent playing time a season later, as Tankoua and Arnold Noah were the go-to big men of the Red Lions.
Still, Roque is thankful to Adamos for the years he spent in Mendiola.
“The San Beda community is grateful for the two years he spent with us. During his two-year stay, we were able to win two NCAA championships and a D-League crown. We are hoping that wherever he goes, he will still carry the Bedan values,” Roque expressed.
If he indeed transfers to Perpetual, Adamos will still have two years of eligibility remaining and can play by Season 95. He spent one year in TIP before playing for two seasons in San Beda.
