Marly Martir showed precision, leading the Philippine Women’s Shooting Team to two gold medals in the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the Marine Corps Training Center in Taguig.

Martir, who is an enlisted Navy personnel, took individual honors in the WA 1500 PPC event with 1450-60x to win gold.

Together with Franchette Quiroz (4th — 1441-48x) and Elvie Baldivino (9th — 1429-53x) won gold in the team event.

Indonesian shooters Triana Eva, Fitriasih Ayu Dini, and Kartikasari Pratiwi (4313 points) placed second in the group event. Zubir Salzuriana, Abd Halim Azeera, and Mohd Yusof Yusliana of Malaysia (4279 points) then completed the podium.

Back in 2017, the Philippines only won one bronze in Kuala Lumpur, with Amparo Acuna copping bronze in the 50 m rifle prone event.
