PVL Press Corps launches awards night honoring season’s best

The Premier Volleyball League Press Corps will honor the best and brightest performers from the past three conferences with its first-ever annual Awards Night, set for May 28 at Novotel Manila Araneta City in Cubao, Quezon City.

Following last year’s historic Rookie Draft, the league is set to mark another milestone with the staging of its inaugural in-season awards night, in collaboration with the PVL Press Corps and Sports Vision.

The Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night aims to recognize outstanding athletes, coaches, and executives who made a mark across the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, the 2024 Invitational Conference, and the recently concluded 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference.

Presented by Arena Plus, the gala will spotlight major awards including the Most Valuable Player of the Season, Mythical Team, Rookie of the Year, Team of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

These accolades will be voted upon by members of the PVL Press Corps—composed of print and online sportswriters who cover the league.

Winners will be selected based on cumulative statistics from all three conferences, as well as votes from team representatives and PVL Press Corps members, ensuring both objectivity and fairness in the selection process.

Additional honors will include Executive of the Year, Most Improved Player, Miss Quality Minutes, and Comeback Player of the Year. The men’s division, Spikers’ Turf, will also be recognized with its own Season MVP and Mythical Team.

Special awards will likewise be presented, with select categories involving fan participation and online voting.

Fans will have a say in deciding several fan-centric awards, including Game of the Year, Star of the Night, and Fan Favorite. Voting mechanics will be announced on the PVL Press Corps’ official social media pages during the voting period.
