Omega Esports dealt TNC its fourth straight loss, 2-0, in MPL Philippines Season 10, Sunday at the ICITE Auditorium.
Already ahead by as much as 7K in Game One, Omega Esports almost dropped the ball after TNC went for a split play that saw Ben “Benthings” Maglaque (Franco), Robee “Yasuwo” Pormocille (Beatrix), and Mark “Kramm” Rusiana (Dyroth) take down Renz “Renzio” Cadua (Esmeralda) and Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez (Julian).
With the TNC trio already inside their base, Duane “Kelra” Pillas (Wanwan) and Deomark “Mikko” Tabangay (Ruby) were forced to retreat and defend.
Over at the other side, Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos (Kagura) scored a solo kill on Dean “Raizen” Sumagui (Paquito) near the Lord pit while Kelra answered back with a kill on Kramm.
TNC took the Lord from there, threatening to come back from the early deficit. Unfortunately, that was not enough as Kelra and Mikko ambushed Kramm at the top lane in the 20th minute before the former eliminated Yasuwo to complete the win.
Kelra finished with a game-high eight kills to go along with two assists in the 14-7 Game One win. Raizen had five kills, two deaths, and two assists while Mikko ended up with six assists and two deaths.
The reigning Best Gold Laner carried his momentum from Game One and completely dominated TNC with his Wanwan. He delivered 11 of Omega Esports’ 14 kills in the second match which also saw him take on four TNC players in the 8th minute and kill three.
“Siguro yung difference, kapag itong dalawa kasi yung naglalaro, mas aggressive sila sa early game. Kapag Ch4knu at E2MAX yung combo namin mas ano kami, mas maganda yung mga calls namin sa late game,” said Omega Esports head coach Jomie “P4kbet” Abalos.
“Nung mga nakaraang season ‘di kami masyadong disiplinado nun. Kaya itong Season 10, mas naging disiplinado kami para kahit outside or inside the game madala namin lahat ng gagawin namin. Mas prepared talaga kami ngayong Season 10 kasi gusto naming kunin yung championship,” he continued.
The SMART-backed squad tied ONIC PH at the second spot with identical 3-1 standings while TNC remained at the eighth spot with a 0-4 slate.
Omega Esports will square up against Nexplay EVOS on Friday at 8:00 PM while TNC will try to enter the win column against ECHO on Saturday also at 8:00 PM.
