MPL: Bren continues to roll, silences ONIC

Jonash Dannug
Bren Esports picked up its third consecutive win after taking down ONIC PH via a reverse sweep, 2-1, in the second round of the MPL Philippines Season 10 regular season, Saturday at the ICITE Auditorium.

The M2 World Champions (4-4) tied ECHO (5-2) at the fifth spot with 12 points each.

With Bren Esports looking to secure the first Lord of Game One, Ralph “Rapidoot” Adrales (Grock) delivered a crucial three-man Wild Charge on Stephen “Super Marco” Requitano (Beatrix), Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson (Paquito), and Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo (Franco) which resulted to four kills – three coming from Frince “SUPER FRINCE” Ramirez (Valentina).

A five-man wipe during the second siege at the 15th minute ended the game.

SUPER FRINCE recorded a game-high 10 kills along with six assists and a death in the 17-11 Game One win while Rapidoot had eight assists and a kill against four deaths in 15 minutes and 12 seconds.

“Actually super happy ako sa performance na pinakita namin. Nung Game One kasi sobrang lakas ng midlane combo nila kaya nabigla rin kami. Kaya for the next two games, nagbigay kami ng respect sa midlane nila,” said Bren Esports assistant coach Paulo “Pauloxpert” Munsayac.

Bren Esports came back in Game Two and dominated ONIC PH by flaunting an objective-centric approach that saw them lead by as much as 15K in the gold department.

ONIC PH never got an objective all throughout the 13-minute match. They only scored a kill during the final siege that sealed the game.

KyleTzy (Paquito), who flexed his muscle both in Bren Esports and ONIC PH’s jungle camps, finished with two kills and three assists against a death in the 5-1 win while Owgwen had a kill and three assists on Chou.

Bren Esports used the same approach in Game Three where they wiped out all of ONIC PH’s turrets as early as the 15th minute mark while also leading by as big as 12K in the gold department come the 18th minute.

Super Marco (Claude) finished with two kills and four assists without a death in the 7-3 triumph. KyleTzy (Lancelot) added three kills and three assists while Pandora had two assists on Ruby.

The rookie-laden squad, who now lost its second straight game, remained at the third spot with 14 points and a 5-3 card.

ONIC PH will return tomorrow against ECHO at 7:30 PM while Bren Esports will face TNC earlier in the day at 5:00 PM.
