Mono Vampire Basketball Club is not yet done in loading up its’ lineup in the ASEAN Basketball League as they have brought back a familiar face in Mike Singletary, the league’s official website announced Friday morning.
The 29-year-old will be replacing Patrick Sanders as the Thai ball club’s World Import. The sweet-shooting Sanders was averaging 17.6 points on 39.6 percent from beyond the arc, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists prior to the change.
Chemistry won’t be a case for Singletary anymore, as he had already played for Mono Vampire back in 2017 both in the Thailand league and in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup last September, where he normed 24.6 points and 9.7 boards.
Moreover, Singletary is no stranger to Philippine basketball, having had stints in the Philippine Basketball Association twice — first with the now-defunct Barako Bull Energy in 2013 and second with San Miguel Beermen in 2016.
The Texas Tech alumnus had also represented the Philippines in the 2016 William Jones Cup where he, along with Mono teammate Jason Brickman, helped steer Mighty Sports-Philippines to the title.
Singletary is expected to make his debut for Mono Vampire against the Westports Malaysia Dragons on Friday, January 12, at Stadium 29 in Bangkok.
