Known as a facilitator, Jason Brickman took charge in scoring, lifting San Miguel Alab Pilipinas to a crucial 100-92 overtime win over rivals Mono Vampire in the 2019-20 ABL Season, Thursday at Studio 29 in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
The pint-sized, Filipino-American floor general had his finest performance in the regional league, dropping 32 points built on five triples. He also scattered eight rebounds, eight assists, and three steals.
And he torched his former squad when Alab needed it the most.
Down 16 points, 73-57, early in the final frame, Brickman scored 15 of the Philippine side’s 30 points. The rally even gave Alab an 84-79 lead.
Mono then stormed right with a run capped by a Mike Singletary basket with eight seconds left, sending the game into extra time.
Knotted at 88-all early in overtime, Brickman spearheaded a game-breaking 9-0 blast that tied their regular season series at two-all.
Nick King also bounced back from his disappointing performance against Mono last Sunday, finishing with 26 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Sam Deguara added 18 points, 16 rebounds, and three steals.
On the other hand, Singletary paced Mono with 25 points and eight rebounds. Preston Knowles chipped in 24 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
Alab will only have a two-day break before hosting the Singapore Slingers.
