New-look Alab Pilipinas flounder in debut, handed rout by Mono Vampire

The new-look San Miguel Alab PIlipinas showed plenty of flaws in its first outing, suffering a 76-111 rout by Mono Vampire at Studio 29 in Thailand, Sunday.

Alab’s defense was shaky, to say the least, while the three imports of the Philippine-based squad could not contain Mike Singletary from the get-go.

Singletary scored 11 of his 19 points in the opening frame alone. On the other hand, Alab only had 12.

Moses Morgan, Freddie Lish, Tyler Lamb, and Ryan Watkins then took turns in battering Alab, helping build a lead that went to as high as 38 points late.

Morgan had 16 points built on four treys, while Lish, Lamb, and Watkins added 13 markers apiece.

In his first game back in Thailand, former Mono import Jason Brickman went scoreless, while also dishing out just four dimes.

Nick King led Alab with 21 points on a dismal 4-of-19 shooting to go along with seven rebounds. Louie Vigil and Jordan Heading had 13 and 12 markers, respectively.

Alab will next face the Fuban Wolf Warriors on November 10.

The Scores:

San Miguel Alab 76 – King 21, Vigil 13, Heading 12, Domingo 10, Gray 9, Wyatt 6, Forbes 4, Ganuelas-Rosser 1, Brickman 0, Rangel 0.

Mono 111 – Singletary 19, Morgan 16, Lish 13, Lamb 13, Watkins 13, Chanthachon 10, Knowles 8, Ananti 8, Towaroj 5, Boonserm 4, Saengtong 2, Phuangla 0.

Quarterscores: 31-12; 54-31; 80-52; 111-76.
