Zavier Lucero is staying put after signing a two-year maximum extension with Magnolia on Saturday.
His agent, Marvin Espiritu, confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
Also present at the signing were Hotshots head coach LA Tenorio and team manager Alvin Patrimonio.
Locking in Lucero was among Magnolia’s top priorities this offseason, especially after the team lost William Navarro.
The versatile 6-foot-6 forward was acquired by the Hotshots in a trade with the NorthPort Batang Pier last July 2024. He quickly made an impact, emerging as Magnolia’s go-to player.
In the previous conference, Lucero ranked seventh in the league in scoring with 19.0 points per game, while also averaging 7.95 rebounds, 2.08 assists, and 1.46 blocks per contest.
Now, he is ready to team up with Magnolia’s new acquisition, Javi Gomez de Liaño.
Also re-signed by the Hotshots this offseason were Russel Escoto, Peter Alfaro, and Joseph Eriobu, while Paolo Taha was picked up from free agency.
