La Salle ushers in UAAP Season 83 — Fully Alive, Champions For Life

Fully Alive, Champions For Life

After Ateneo challenged the entire UAAP community to find its ‘more’ during Season 82, La Salle will face the new challenge of beginning the league’s new normal come Season 83.

La Salle is ready to face the challenges of starting a new season amid the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with the motto Fully Alive, Champions For Life.

The formal turnover of season hosting happened Saturday afternoon during Season 82’s online closing ceremony held at ABS-CBN Sports’ social media platforms.

“As we close Season 82, we are grateful to all those who gave their all to make Season 82 possible. And it is with honor that we turn over the hosting of UAAP Season 83 to De La Salle University,” said Season 82 Board of Trustees chairman Fr. Jett Villarin, SJ of Ateneo.

“We are embarking on Season 83 with the motto — Fully Alive, Champions for Life. This is De La Salle University welcoming you to Season 83,” said Bro. Raymundo Suplido, FSC of La Salle.

Season 82 was forced to cancel the rest of its season due to the pandemic. Events cancelled were collegiate volleyball, collegiate football, collegiate baseball, collegiate softball, track and field, lawn tennis, and 3×3 basketball.

It is still unknown when Season 83 can begin.

But for La Salle, safety will be given utmost importance before opening the curtains to the new season.

“For the love of sports, we have to challenge ourselves to continue to excel. It is important that we do so with resilience and fortitude. Also we must plan and play but with safety and prudence in our minds so that we do not risk the health and safety of our members.”
