Chen Tagaod, Jean Asis bid FEU goodbye, set sights on PVL Draft


Chenie Tagaod and Jean Asis have officially bid farewell to Far Eastern University as they take the next step in their volleyball careers.

The senior duo has decided to forgo their final year of eligibility in the UAAP to join the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Draft, set for June 8.

Both players made separate farewell posts on social media to express their gratitude to the FEU community.

“Every exit is an entry somewhere else,” tweeted Asis.

“Daghang salamat sa upat ka tuig FEU! Permi kong mapasalamaton kanimo!” wrote Tagaod on Instagram.

Before making their decision public, the two student-athletes met with FEU athletics director Mark Molina on May 9 to secure his blessing as they made the leap to the professional ranks.

Tagaod, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, tallied 122 points during the UAAP Season 87 elimination round — comprising 106 attacks, nine blocks, and seven aces.

Asis, a 5-foot-10 middle blocker who came up through FEU-Diliman, delivered 118 points built on 90 attacks, 17 blocks, and 11 aces.

Together, the two played key roles in powering the Lady Tamaraws to back-to-back Final Four appearances.
