After months of speculation, a beloved figure in SMC folklore returns to Alab Pilipinas.
Justin Brownlee will be suiting up for the San Miguel-backed squad for the second time.
The development was first reported by Carlo Pamintuan and confirmed by team owner Charlie Dy.
The one-time PBA Best Import replaces Prince Williams.
Williams, who previously replaced Khalif Wyatt, played in six games for Alab, averaging just 9.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
Brownlee, though, will likely double or even triple those numbers for Alab.
During the 2017-18 season of the ABL, Brownlee and Balkman joined forces to lift the Philippine side on top of the league. The 6-foot-5 Brownlee averaged 21.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per contest during that campaign.
Brownlee joins Sam Deguara and Nick King as the foreign reinforcements of the squad.
The native of Tifton, Georgia Up will make his return on Wednesday, February 19, at MABA Stadium against Malaysia.
Alab is currently 9-5 in the standings.
