Junior Reyes opens SEAG taekwondo with poomsae gold


It was a rousing start for the Philippine National Taekwondo Team, as Junior Reyes bagged gold in the 2019 SEA Games’ recognized poomsae men’s individual event, Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. 

The former University of Santo Tomas standout ended with an average of 8.349 to dominate the seven-man competition.

Thailand’s Pattarapong Sengmueang git the silver with 8.199. Meanwhile, Myanmar and Malaysia bagged the two bronzes off Shine Sun and Augustine Anak, respectively, with identical marks of 7.849.
