Northport guard John Amores and his 20-year-old brother surrendered to the Lumban, Laguna police at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Their voluntary surrender was facilitated by their sibling, a barangay chairman in Pagsanjan, who coordinated with the authorities, according to a report by ABS-CBN News.
Sa kanila pareho,” said PMaj. Bob Louis Ordiz, the chief of Lumban PNP, to ABS-CBN.
Amores is the main suspect in a shooting incident that took place in Barangay Maytalang Uno on Wednesday afternoon.
He was on a motorcycle driven by his brother when the incident occurred.
Fortunately, the victim survived, and no civilians were harmed.
Authorities are looking into a basketball-related argument as the possible motive for the shooting.
The altercation began during a basketball game in Barangay Salac and escalated into a confrontation.
The conflict continued to Barangay Maytalang Uno, where the shooting took place.
Naghamunan ulit ng another suntukan. Ordiz.
Both Amores and his brother are facing attempted murder charges.
According to the police, the gun used in the incident has not been recovered as Amores allegedly threw it away after the shooting.
The brothers are expected to undergo inquest proceedings today, while the victim has requested to avoid interviews with the media.
