Investigation launched as John Amores involved in attempted murder case

A shooting incident allegedly involving Northport guard John Amores occurred on the evening of Wednesday, September 25, at approximately 6:10 p.m. in Barangay Maytalang Uno, Lumban, Laguna.

The victim, Lee Cacalda Y. Lumangaya, a 32-year-old seaman, was reportedly shot by Amores following a heated altercation that began during a basketball game.

In a video sent to Tiebreaker Times, Lungaya confronted Amores and challenged him to a fight, leading to the shooting incident after both men dismounted their motorcycles.

The report stated that Amores shot at Lumangaya with an unknown type of firearm. Fortunately, Lumangaya incurred no injuries in the incident.

A concerned citizen reported the incident to the Lumban Municipal Police Station (MPS) shortly after it occurred.

The police have since launched a dragnet operation and a hot pursuit to apprehend Amores, who fled the scene. Law enforcement is treating the case as an attempted murder.
