2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

Japeth Aguilar returns to practice as 13-strong attend Gilas session

Gilas Pilipinas was almost complete as 13 men showed up in their resumption of practices for the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers’ sixth window, Monday evening at the Meralco Gym in Pasig

Poy Erram, Marcio Lassiter, June Mar Fajardo, Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario, and Jayson Castro all took part in the session even if they are coming off last Sunday night’s PBA action.

Scottie Thompson, Paul Lee, Mark Barroca, Raymond Almazan, and Gabe Norwood were present as well.

Ateneo Blue Eagle Thirdy Ravena completed Monday’s cast. Ravena came from Ateneo’s PCCL final game against the UV Green Lancers at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Completing the night’s cast was Japeth Aguilar, who had missed the previous two practices.

Naturalized center Andray Blatche’s return to the country is looming as he is expected to arrive on February 1.

This is the flagbearers’ third practice session since starting last January 21.

Gilas now only has less than a month to prepare for the Qualifiers’ sixth window, where they will face Qatar on February 21 and Kazakhstan on February 24 in must-win games to fan their hopes for the World Cup.
