High stakes triple-header set to decide WMPBL semis berths

High stakes and heightened drama await on the final day of the 2025 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League regular season presented by Akari, as the Enderun Gym hosts a decisive triple-header this Saturday.

Three teams will jockey for position at the top in hopes of clinching the two outright semifinal berths, while two others fight for the coveted twice-to-beat incentive in the tournament backed by Uratex, Black Mamba, Red Dynasty, Aktive Balls, and Pocari Sweat.

San Juan-DN Steel and Tagaytay-Tol will tip off the final day of the regular season at 2:00 PM.

A victory for the Lady Knights would lock them into one of the two outright semifinal spots. Meanwhile, the Lady Patriots aim to strengthen their bid for the fourth seed and the coveted quarterfinals advantage.

Janine Pontejos, Chack Cabinbin, and Stefhanie Ventura will once again lead the charge for San Juan-DN Steel.

Stefanie Berberabe, Monique Del Carmen, and Justine Domingo will carry the scoring load for Tagaytay-Tol in a crucial encounter that will determine the playoff picture.

The second game of the triple-header will see the Valkyries clash with the Perlas at 4:00 PM.

Both teams are locked in a tight battle atop the standings, with the New Zealand Bluefire-Batangas also holding a 7-2 record and the Discovery-Rizal sitting just a game behind at 6-3.

A win for either squad could prove decisive in securing one of the two outright semifinal berths, adding another layer of intensity to an already high-stakes day.

The showdown will largely hinge on the duel between Afril Bernardino of the Valkyries, looking to secure a top-two finish, and Tantoy Ferrer of Perlas, determined to crash the party and barge into the upper tier.

The day concludes at 6:00 PM with Pangasinan-Solar Home facing RK Hoops-Quezon City.

The Suns enter the final game aiming to lock down the fourth seed and secure the quarterfinals advantage, while RK Hoops-QC, already out of playoff contention at 1-8, will look to end the regular season on a high note.
