The Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League still knows no other Most Valuable Player than Afril Bernardino, as the Batangas-New Zealand Bluefire star captured her third consecutive MVP award after another stellar campaign in the 2026 season.
Bernardino topped the MVP race with 401 statistical points. She compiled 146 points, 103 rebounds, 35 assists, 30 steals, and 18 blocks while committing just 11 turnovers to lead the defending champions back to the WMPBL Finals.
The honor marked her second MVP award in the league’s professional era after winning the inaugural professional season award in 2025. It is her third overall after also claiming the Invitational Tournament MVP earlier that year.
Bernardino also dominated on the defensive end, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors after leading the league in both steals and blocks.

Joining Bernardino on the Mythical Five were Allana Lim of Akari-Rizal, Batangas-New Zealand Bluefire teammate Snow Peñaranda, Monique Del Carmen of Biñan-Tatak Gel, and Tantoy Ferrer of RK Hoops-Quezon City 10ACT.
Lim finished second in the MVP race with 333 statistical points after recording 154 points, 67 rebounds, 23 assists, 10 steals, and four blocks to lead Akari-Rizal to its second straight WMPBL Finals appearance.
Peñaranda placed third with 308 statistical points behind totals of 140 points, 81 rebounds, 23 assists, five steals, and three blocks. Del Carmen finished fourth with 305 statistical points after posting 138 points, 60 rebounds, 27 assists, 14 steals, and seven blocks.
Ferrer rounded out the top five with 302 statistical points. She tallied 148 points, 99 rebounds, 31 assists, 19 steals, and five blocks in another impressive all-around campaign that helped the Quezon City-based squad reach its first-ever semifinal appearance.
Meanwhile, Mar Prado — who played in last year’s Invitational Tournament but sat out the league’s inaugural professional season — was named Rookie of the Year after an impressive campaign with the Sparks.
Prado finished seventh overall in statistical points with 290, leading all rookies by a comfortable margin over Biñan-Tatak Gel’s Eka Soriano, who accumulated 238 statistical points.
Completing the list of individual award winners was Pasig’s Lee Sario, who earned the Most Improved Player award after finishing 12th overall in statistical points with 203.
