The TNT Katropa have decided to replace burly import Michael Craig by bringing in Glen Rice, Jr. as their new reinforcement in the 2017 Governor’s Cup, the league confirmed, Tuesday afternoon.
The import change was a surprising move, considering that the six-foot-five Craig posted decent numbers of 21.7 points, 16.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in the three games he played — including a triple-double in his debut.
Rice, Jr. is the son of NBA legend Glen Rice, Sr. The 26-year-old product of Georgia Tech was the 35th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, and played for the Washington Wizards from 2013 to 2015. He last played for Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA D-League back in 2015.
As per the PBA’s tweet this afternoon, the Miami-born Rice, Jr. is officially measured at 6-foot-4, making him eligible to play for the Katropa in the season-ending conference.
