Fnatic ONIC clinches first MPL PH berth with sweep over Team Liquid

Fnatic ONIC Philippines secured the first playoff spot in MPL Philippines Season 14 after a dominant 2-0 sweep against Team Liquid Philippines on Friday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

The victory was fueled by standout performances from Jann “Kirk” Gutierrez (Chou) and Borris “Brusko” Parro (Tigreal), whose impressive plays extended Fnatic ONIC’s winning streak to eight games.

Both players showcased stellar chemistry, with Brusko and Kirk each finishing with six assists and five deaths in the 19-minute match, which ended with a 15-13 kill score.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, head coach Anthony “Ynot” Senedrin expressed his enthusiasm during the post-match interview.

Siguro kanina yung pinaka-naging fan ako ng MLBB sa buong buhay ko,” he said. “Not to be exaggerated, yung dalawang game? Lala. Sobrang lala.

“Yung coach nila ako pero ako yung biggest fan nila kanina. Kanina yung pinaka-maingay ko eh. Hindi ako nakapag-analyze ng game eh. Parang lahat ng play nila parang ‘okay’,” he added.

Senedrin felt especially impressed by his players’ individual efforts, noting, “Yung Fanny niya (K1NGKONG) noong Game 1? Hay jusko. Tapos yung Lou Yi ni Super Frince noong Game 2? Lala. Kumbaga siguro ngayong araw, sobrang na-enjoy ko talaga panooring yung game.

“Walang kabang naramdaman. I never felt kahit konting anxiousness. It’s just a really big fan. Sobrang thankful ako na ginagawa nila lahat.”

In Game 1, King “K1NGKONG” Perez (Fanny) led his team with an aggressive style, securing most of the kills and allowing Fnatic ONIC to control the map throughout the match.
