Favorites Jerrick Ahanmisi, Khate Castillo shoot lights out in 3-point Competition

By: Ohmer Bautista

Adamson Soaring Falcon Jerrick Ahanmisi’s silky smooth jumper was on full display once again, but this time around, in the inaugural Last One Standing three-point shootout.

Being the second man up in a three-way shootout Finale, Jerrrick Ahanmisi cooly dashed National U’s Miguel Oczon’s record, shooting the lights out of the Mall of Asia Atrium with a 7-out-of-15 clip and establishing the pressure-pack atmosphere — enough to snag the crown away from the third-man out in DLSU’s Aaron Waban.

Waban and Oczon, were both three points shy of breaking Ahanmisi’s record.

The other sharpshooters who took part in the sniping event were UST’s Sherwin Concepcion, FEU’s Travis Mantua, UE’s Jan Sobrebega, UP’s Jethro Madrigal, and Ateneo’s Jolo Mendoza.UAAP-81-Last-Man-Standing-3pt-Shootout-W-DLSU-Castillo-2 Favorites Jerrick Ahanmisi, Khate Castillo shoot lights out in 3-point Competition 1-on-1 ADMU AdU DLSU FEU News NU UAAP UE UP UST - philippine sports news

In the distaff edition of the said event, Khate Castillo fired an 8-for-15 outing to put the three-point shootout tiara away from Adamson’s Jamie Alcoy and NU’s Je-anne Camelo’s reach, who both logged in six long bombs in a losing cause.

UP’s Mikee Gatpatan, Ateneo’s Angel Gino-gino, FEU’s Alaisa Adriano, UE’s Jadey Strachan, and UST’s Ana Tacatac also had their share of the limelight in the contest.
