Eya Laure eyes PVL podium in second year with Chery Tiggo

Eya Laure is targeting a podium finish for Chery Tiggo as she enters her second year with the Crossovers in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League season.

The 24-year-old former UST star shared during the PVL Media Day at the TV5 Media Center last Sunday that her goal this year is to help the retooled Chery Tiggo get a top-three finish.

That would surpass their fourth-place campaign in the Second All-Filipino Conference.

Laure said that she also wanted to feel the same feeling she felt when she helped the Golden Tigresses achieve a silver medal in the UAAP Season 81.

“Of course, maka-podium finish sa PVL conference. Of course. So sana this PVL conference, maka-podium finish kaming Chery,” Laure said.

The reigning All-Filipino Conference 1st Best Outside Spiker said that she is very confident entering the season, considering the addition of former F2 Logistics veterans Aby Maraño and Ara Galang to the roster.

Laure, who acknowledged that the Crossovers are a very young team, said that Maraño provides the team added leadership.

Manwhile, Galang serves as a calming presence both inside and outside the court.

“Mas confident kasi kumbaga, meron kaming taga kalma. Si Ate Ara, calm kasi siya meron din kaming leader na nadagdag, which is si Tyang Aby,” said the former UAAP Rookie of the Year.

So ngayon na may mga veterans na dumating, marami kaming matututunan sa kanila from their experience,” she added.

The former PVL Collegiate Conference champion also said that the Crossovers did not have a hard time adjusting to the former Cargo Movers stars, saying that they were very open and easy to work with.
