After dropping its first two games of the season, Execration finally got its breakthrough victory after stunning Southeast Asia powerhouse Fnatic via a 2-0 sweep in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021 Season Two-Southeast Asia upper division, Wednesday.
Jinn “Palos” Lamatao played God-like in the series, kick-starting Game One with a 13-2-5 stat line playing Ursa to lead the 28-15 victory over the top Southeast Asian squad in Season One.
It was a nip-and-tuck affair for both squads in the early goings of Game One,. Execration then slowly took the lead past the 30-minute mark. Polo “Raven” Fausto’s Spectre tried to carry Fnatic and salvage the game, but the well-fed Ursa of Palos clearly got the upper hand.
Yuri Dave “Yowe” Pacaña’s Beastmaster finished with six kills and 12 assists against two deaths. Meanwhile, Nikko “Nikko” Bilocura’s Centaur Warunner added five kills, three deaths, and 15 assists in the 39:48-minute opener.
On the other hand, Raven was held to just four kills, four deaths, and eight assists for Fnatic. Filipino support Djardel “Dj” Mampusti (Enchantress) had three kills, six deaths, and eight assists.
Newly-added offlaner Ng “ChYuan” Kee Chyuan — who replaced Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee before the start of Season Two — registered two kills, four deaths, and nine assists in his first game playing for Fnatic.
Palos then put on the exclamation mark in Game Two with his Lifestealer. He ended up with 13 kills and 14 assists in the 39-20 Game Two victory to tow Execration to the fourth spot with a 1-2 record.
Fnatic, on the other hand, is level with South Korean squad T1 at the sixth place with identical 0-1 standings.
Execration will next face Omega Esports on Wednesday, April 28. On the other hand, Fnatic will try to enter the win column against Boom Esports.
