Courtney Schwan feels right at home with Creamline

Courtney Schwan has been playing professional volleyball since 2018, and she is now in her fourth country — this time in the Philippines with Creamline.

After suiting up for seven teams across Italy, France, Greece, and her home country, the USA, Schwan says she’s never felt at home as quickly as she has with the Cool Smashers.

Creamline will kick off the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at the Ynares Center Montalban.

The 6-foot-2 American outside spiker is ready to make her debut on October 11 at the City of Dasmariñas Arena against Akari — a rematch of the 2024 Reinforced Conference Finals.

“I am having an absolutely wonderful time. The team is amazing, the team is so friendly and so welcoming. I don’t think I’ve ever been on a team that made me feel like I was at home so fast,” Schwan said on Thursday during the Reinforced press conference at Discovery Suites in Ortigas.

A University of Washington product, Schwan is eager to showcase her skills for Creamline, well aware of the passion and energy of the team’s fanbase.

She will experience that energy firsthand in Cavite, where the Dasmariñas Arena has been packed during the PVL On Tour.

“I’m actually super excited, I’ve heard the fans are absolutely phenomenal and I can’t wait to meet them all,” Schwan said.

Schwan will also have big shoes to fill, taking over from last year’s import, Erica Staunton, who led Creamline to the Reinforced and Invitational titles.

But Schwan remains focused on giving her best in her first stint in the Philippines.

“No, I don’t feel any pressure. The team hasn’t put any pressure,” she said.

“I am here to play free, have fun, and I’m very competitive though, so I’m ready to play as well.”
