Blackwater set to release McCarthy, signs Kwekuteye, Concepcion

Blackwater has decided to not renew the contract of Rashawn McCarthy.

The contract of McCarthy, a seven-year vet who was traded to Blackwater two years ago, is set to expire this month.

On Friday, the Bossing relegated him and Jvee Casio to the reserve list while activating James Kwekuteye and Archie Concepcion.

Kwekuteye, who is represented by Titan Management Group, signed a two-year deal with Blackwater early this week.

He was the 20th overall pick in the recent PBA Draft.

Concepcion, meanwhile, was the 37th overall pick.

Coincidentally, the two faced off in the MPBL National Finals with Concepcion’s Pampanga beating Kwekuteye’s Bacoor.

The two will make their PBA debuts on Friday against TNT.

Yousef Taha will sit out the contest due to injury.
