Bagunas, Espejo take home championships before Spikers’ Turf stints

Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo will go home as champions.

Bagunas was instrumental in Win Streak’s two-game sweep over Taipower in the 2023-24 Top Volleyball League Finals.

Meanwhile, Espejo’s Incheon Korean Air swept Ansan OK Financial Group in the 2023-2024 South Korea V-League Men’s Championship.

Bagunas dropped 20 points in Win Streak’s 25-23, 25-17, 25-19 Game 1 triumph while chipping in 16 points in their 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 victory last Sunday to secure back-to-back crowns.

Espejo, meanwhile, did not play in the best of five series.

The Jumbos defeated the OKman in all three games: 22-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-18 in Game 1; 25-21, 25-21, 29-27 in Game 2; and 27-25, 16-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13 in Game 3.

Espejo was pivotal in the elimination round for the Jumbos, tallying a total of 111 points on a 53.25-percent attack rate in 23 games played.

This is Incheon Korean Air’s fourth straight title.

Bagunas and Espejo will return home in a week’s time to suit up for Cignal and Criss Cross, respectively.
