After four seasons, Erika Santos says thank you, goodbye to PLDT

Erika Santos announced on Monday night that she has parted ways with PLDT after four seasons in the Premier Volleyball League.

Santos shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing her deep gratitude to her first-ever professional team for the unforgettable experiences and unwavering support throughout her journey.

“After three unforgettable years representing PLDT, the time has come for me to turn the page and embrace a new chapter. I’ve been honored to compete alongside incredible teammates and guided by dedicated coaches,” said Santos.

“To my teammates, coaches, and management who became family — pushing me to improve, sharing laughter, and never letting me settle for less than my potential. And to the PLDT fans, your encouragement after a loss lifted our spirits, and your celebrations after a win became memories we’ll cherish forever. I am profoundly grateful for each of you,” she added.

Santos quickly emerged as a key piece for the squad, showing flashes of her potential in her rookie year before solidifying her place in the starting unit in the following seasons.

In her final season with the team, the 24-year-old winger ranked 17th in scoring in the 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference, tallying 161 points. She also finished sixth among all opposite spikers in scoring and placed sixth in spiking efficiency with a 32.84% success rate.

“I’m excited for what lies ahead, yet I know I’ll deeply miss our morning gym sessions and practices, our pre-game kulitans, and the simple joy of working toward a shared dream,” Santos said.
