Hélène Rousseaux and Alohi Robins-Hardy powered Farm Fresh into the quarterfinals after dispatching Petro Gazz in four sets, 25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 28-26, in the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Rousseaux delivered another explosive performance with 31 points built on 27 attacks, three blocks, and one ace. Meanwhile, Robins-Hardy orchestrated the offense with 21 excellent sets and contributed nine points of her own as the Foxies became the third team to clinch a playoff berth.
Farm Fresh improved to 5-1, joining ZUS Coffee and PLDT in the next round while tying the High Speed Hitters at second place.
After racing to a two-set lead, the Foxies faced a spirited Petro Gazz comeback in the third frame, as the reigning All-Filipino Conference champions refused to go down quietly.
The Angels pushed the fourth set to an extended battle, but Rousseaux’s composure and Robins-Hardy’s steady play proved decisive in the clutch.
With the score tied at 26-all, Rousseaux fired a blistering back-row attack, then sealed the win with a sharp cross-court hit to deny Petro Gazz a fifth set after more than two hours of action.
“First of all, credit to the Petro Gazz team. Maybe they haven’t performed as well as they expected in some games in the first round, but we knew they had weapons — scorers and experienced players — and it showed,” said Farm Fresh head coach Alessandro Lodi.
“But once again, I sound like a broken record, [but] my team is gritty. They never give up, and we have that serving pressure that makes it really hard to play against us,” he added.
Trisha Tubu chipped in 14 points, while Ces Molina turned in an all-around effort with 10 points, 19 excellent digs, and 11 excellent receptions. Converted libero Alyssa Bertolano also continued to thrive in her new role with 13 digs and 11 receptions.
Farm Fresh will gun for its third straight win against Galeries Tower on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Ynares Center in Montalban.
Brooke Van Sickle led Petro Gazz with a triple-double of 16 points, 17 digs, and 10 receptions, while American import Lindsey Vander Weide matched her output with 16 points and 15 receptions.
The Angels slipped to 3-3, tied with Akari and Cignal for sixth to eighth place.
Petro Gazz aims to bounce back when it faces Capital1 on Saturday at 6:30 PM.
