Besides giving the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers’ franchise its first-ever Grand Prix championship, Maria Jose Perez will brought home another award, Saturday evening.
F2 Logistics’ Venezuelan import reigned supreme in the 2017 Chooks-to-Go-Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, bringing home the 2017 PSL Grand Prix Most Valuable Player award.
Perez normed 5.25 points per set in the Finals, as she led the Cargo Movers to the franchise’s first Grand Prix title in an epic three-game series against the Petron Blaze Spikers.
Other Cargo Movers who won awards were Kianna Dy (Second Best Opposite Spiker), Majoy Baron (Second Best Middle Blocker), Kim Fajardo (Best Setter), and Dawn Macandili (First Best Libero).
Petron’s Lindsay Stalzer and Hillary Hurley each plucked the First and Second Best Open Hitter plum, respectively. Yuri Fukuda claimed the Second Best Libero award, while Mika Reyes was deemed the First Best Middle Blocker.
Jaja Santiago of the Foton Tornadoes completed the All-PSL team by claiming the First Best Opposite Spiker tiara.
Serbian Sara Klisura claimed a special citation for setting the league’s scoring record earlier this season, as she dropped 41 points during the Tornadoes’ victory over the Cargo Movers last November 25.
