Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s crucial Akai plays in Game Three powered Nexplay Esports’ crucial win against Execration, handing its rival its fifth-straight loss via a 2-1 reverse in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Season Seven, Friday night.
Yawi was able to pin down Execration tank Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog in the crucial juncture of Game Three to put Nexplay Esports ahead by a huge advantage.
With Execration down one man, the 19-year-old tank out of Manila then forced an initiation on Kielvj “Kielvj” Hernandez (Roger) to end Game Three.
Yawi finished with a game-high nine assists along with a kill and two deaths en route to the SMART MVP award in the 17-5 Game Three win.
“Wala po, may mga miscomms and may mga error lang po na kailangan ayusin kaya hindi namin matapos yung game. Pero naso-solusyunan din namin… Buti nasolusyunan ngayon,” said Nexplay Esports jungler John Paul “H2wo” Salonga moments after the reverse sweep.
With the series opener entering the 31-minute mark, Ch4knu (Khufra) initiated a crucial kill on Dexter “Exort” Martinez’s Mathilda near the lord pit to give Execration a free run at the Luminous Lord.
Surprisingly, the Execration bunch, despite having a five-on-four advantage retreated from the objective.
And that’s when Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic (Selena) fired an Abyssal Arrow near the Serpent pit and caught John Paul “H2wo” Salonga’s Ling which ultimately sealed the deal for Execration.
E2MAX nabbed the SMART MVP honors with seven kills, two deaths, and six assists in the 19-18 Game One win which lasted for 33 minutes and four seconds.
A crucial flank from Exort’s Lunox keyed Nexplay Esports’ comeback win in Game Two which tied the series at 1-all.
With Execration trying to secure the Luminous Lord entering the 19-minute mark, the former Geek Fam PH core went in with his Chaos Assault-Order of Brilliance combo to score a double kill on E2MAX (Pharsa) and Kielvj (Granger).
That allowed Nexplay to secure the lord and eventually, end the match.
Exort was named the SMART MVP with five kills, five deaths, and two assists in the 18-13 Game Two win.
The Setsuna “Akosi Dogie” Ignacio-coached squad strengthened its playoff bid by keeping the third spot with 15 points through a 5-6 record in Group B while Execration slid to a 3-7 record with 13 points — good for fourth in the same group.
Nexplay Esports looks to solidify its place in the playoffs against ONIC PH on Sunday at 7:30 pm while Execration will try and salvage its campaign against Cignal Ultra on the same day at 6:00 pm.
