UAAP’s NU, Adamson, FEU highlight 10-team Asiabasket lineup


The Anta Asiabasket International Championship will tip off at Enderun Colleges from July 9 to 16.

This thrilling event will feature top-tier competition among university and club teams from across the continent and beyond, promising an exciting week of basketball action.

The Asiabasket International Championship features a remarkable lineup of teams, including three teams from the UAAP and three international teams.

From the UAAP, the National University Bulldogs, Adamson Soaring Falcons, and Far Eastern University Tamaraws have confirmed participation.

Representing the international arena are National Formosa University from Taiwan, DKI Jakarta from Indonesia, and Lakas California from the USA, bringing diverse styles of play and international flair to the tournament.

The NCAA is represented by the San Beda Red Lions, the College of Saint Benilde Blazers, and the Mapua University Cardinals.

Adding an element of unpredictability and excitement is the guest club Phenom Blue Fire, backed by Blue Fire, featuring a mix of emerging talents and seasoned players.

The tournament will feature ten teams divided into two groups, Group A and Group B, competing in a single round-robin format.

The top four teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, starting with the quarterfinals, followed by the semifinals, and culminating in the championship game.

The Asiabasket International Championship kicks off on July 9, 2024.

The opening day begins at 1:00 PM with a clash between National Formosa University from Taiwan and the Benilde Blazers.

This will be followed by a 3:00 PM showdown between the Adamson Soaring Falcons and the Mapua Cardinals, promising an intense battle of UAAP versus NCAA.

At 5:00 PM, DKI Jakarta from Indonesia will face the San Beda Red Lions in what is expected to be a high-energy match.

The day concludes with an exciting 7:00 PM game featuring the National University Bulldogs against the guest club Phenom Blue Fire, setting the stage for an action-packed start to the tournament.
