Titan Ultra earned praise after their final game in the 2025-26 PBA Philippine Cup, going toe-to-toe with Ginebra despite having nothing on the line.
Led by the dynamic duo of Calvin Abueva and Joshua Munzon, the Giant Risers closed their inaugural conference in ninth place with a respectable 4-7 record—a promising start for a fledgling franchise.
But this is just the beginning. The best is yet to come for Titan Ultra.
A youth movement is on the horizon, spearheaded by NCAA Season 101 Seniors Basketball Finals MVP Bryan Sajonia and soon-to-be-signed guard CJ Austria.
Their impact could redefine the team’s future.
The next two conferences will determine Titan Ultra’s position in the first round of the PBA Season 51 Draft, set for January 2027—a draft already shaping up as one of the deepest in league history.
Currently, Ginebra holds the Terrafirma pick via the Maverick Ahanmisi trade, while NLEX owns the Blackwater pick due to the Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser trade involving TNT.
Titan Ultra sits fourth after the Philippine Cup, positioning them well for the upcoming draft.
According to team manager Aldriane Anglim, the Giant Risers have four second-round picks secured.
Titan Ultra owns Converge’s pick via the Dave Ildefonso trade and also inherited the second-round picks of Magnolia (from the William Navarro-Calvin Abueva trade), San Miguel (JM Calma trade), and Terrafirma (Brent Paraiso trade).
Their own pick, however, was traded to Converge during the Pao Javillonar acquisition.
It’s still an impressive haul.
All five selections in the first two rounds of the 2027 draft could land blue-chip prospects.
Titan Ultra could land a first-round big man of the caliber of Mason Amos, PJ Palacielo, or Cedrick Manzano, while the second round offers a wealth of talent: Gerry Abadiano, Terrence Fortea, James Payosing, John Abate, Kean Baclaan, Gelo Crisostomo, Gani Stevens, Jomel Puno, Justine Sanchez, Clint Escamis, and more.
With this arsenal of picks and emerging talent, Titan Ultra is just getting started.
Make the right moves, and the Giant Risers could very well become the next Converge.
