TBT’s Joaqui Flores bags two awards in NCAA Photo Contest

During the NCAA Season 94 Seniors Basketball Individual Awards Ceremony, the Grand Old League also adjudged the best shots from the photo journalists who have been covering the league in both the print and online realm.

Bagging two places in the contest judged by the NCAA’s Management Committee headed by San Beda’s Mari Lacson are shots from Tiebreaker Times’ chief photographer Joaqui Flores.

Flores’ photo of Prince Eze celebrating his buzzer-beating shot that ended Lyceum’s 30-game elimination round streak last September 21 ranked second.

Refuse to Lose

On the other hand, his photo of Michael Calisaan hoping that Justin Gutang’s buzzer-beater would not count, taken last September 11, placed third.

Keep the Faith

Rio Deluvio of the Manila Bulletin won the top honors in the annual contest.

Flores, who has been covering the league since Season 91, brought home PHP 15,000 for his efforts (PHP 10,000 for second place and PHP 5,000 for third place).

As the icing on the cake, Flores was able to get the hard copy of his photo signed by Eze himself.
