Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez paid tribute to his former teammates, recognizing their role in his development, after Fnatic ONIC PH’s triumphant championship run at the M6 World Championship earlier this month.
Super Frince’s mastery of mages and the middle lane proved to be a key factor in Fnatic ONIC’s championship journey, a skill he developed during his time with Monster Anarchy in the amateur ranks and carried over when they were acquired by ONIC in Season 10.
The MPL PH Season 14 KDA leader believes he couldn’t have done it without his former teammates.
“Yung pakiramdam ko, sobrang saya kasi nakapag-champion ako gamit ‘yung mga experience na napagdaanan namin nung Season 10,” Super Frince told Tiebreaker Times during Fnatic ONIC PH’s victory party last Saturday.
“Nag-congrats sila. Deserve ko raw, at sa wakas daw nag-champion na ako. Halos lahat eh, cinongrats nila ako sa (group chat) namin,” he shared, adding that he also met with Kenneth “Nets” Barro, now with Team Vamos, to hang out during the tournament.
Super Frince, along with the core of Monster Anarchy—Nets, Ralph “Rapidoot” Adrales, and Stephen “Sensui” Castillo—made the jump to the professional scene following a major shakeup at ONIC PH.
This change led to the disbandment of its roster, which included Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol, Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy, Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera, Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales, and Marky “Markyyyyy” Capacio—players who had reached the MPL PH Season 9 grand finals and previously competed in the M2 World Championship.
The amateur-laden squad showed glimpses of its potential, but it wasn’t enough, as the team suffered three consecutive first-round exits. This prompted another revamp that ultimately led to the formation of their M6 championship roster.
Super Frince, the lone remnant of the Monster Anarchy core on the roster, admitted that he doubted himself at times following their disappointing performances early in his career. However, he’s grateful to have finally proven his worth and overcome those challenges.
“Siguro nung una lang kasi laging first-round exit. Sabay kada simula ng season, gigil ako na makabawi kasi may gusto talaga akong patunayan na kaya ko mag-champion, na hindi lagi first-round exit,” he said.
Playing with a different set of teammates led by Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Super Frince managed to showcase his full potential and helped the organization secure its first-ever MPL PH championship in Season 14.
He then stepped up his game in the world tournament, ranking second overall in total assists with 183 in the M6 World Championship, while also playing a crucial role in Fnatic ONIC PH’s momentous victory over Team Liquid ID in the grand finals.
For Super Frince, none of this would have been possible without the help and support of his former teammates throughout their time together.
