Seth Rodriguez, Mean Mendrez forego final years in UE, sign with Petro Gazz

Petro Gazz unveiled its first key pick-ups of the off-season.

Middle blockers Seth Rodriguez and Mean Mandrez signed for the Angels for the upcoming 2021 PVL Season.

The team confirmed the signings through its social media accounts.

This means that Rodriguez and Mendrez, both 22, have foregone their eligibility in University of the East. Both still had one year left in the UAAP.

Rodriguez was part of Marinerang Pilipina in the 2019 PSL Season while Mendrez was part of Generika-Ayala.

Both the Skippers and the Lifesavers folded due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

Rodriguez also played for PVL club Tacloban in 2017.

Meneses, on the other hand, played as an amateur for Petro Gazz during that same time.

Petro Gazz recently let go of 5-foot-7 outside hitter Jonah Sabete; middle blockers 6-foot Jeanette Panaga and 5-foot-11 Cherry Nunag; 5-foot-9 opposite hitter Kai Nepomuceno-Baloaloa; and 5-foot-8 outside hitter Jovie Prado.
