A total of 57 prospects have officially made the final cut for the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Draft after successfully completing all documentary requirements, making them eligible for Sunday’s draft festivities at Novotel Manila Araneta City.
Headlining the draft class is three-time UAAP Most Valuable Player Mhicaela Belen of National University, who joins a loaded field of collegiate standouts and overseas-trained hopefuls all vying for a shot at the pro ranks.
Belen will be joined by her NU teammates Erin Pangilinan, Sheena Toring, Pearl An Denura, and Jerrymie Ann Turaray in the official pool.
De La Salle University will also be well-represented by Alleiah Malaluan, Baby Jyne Soreno, Julyana Tolentino, and Jessa Ordiales.
Meanwhile, Adamson University’s May Ann Nuique, Ayesha Juegos, Jules Lopena, Aliah Marce, Kylene Villegas, and May Roque have all completed their draft applications as well.
Ateneo’s Alexis Miner and Lyann De Guzman; Far Eastern University’s Jean Asis, Chenie Tagaod, Ann Monares, and Lyka Bautista; University of Santo Tomas’ Pia Abbu and Renee Penafiel; University of the East’s Riza Nogales; and University of the Philippines’ Nica Celis round out the UAAP delegation.
Another UAAP-linked prospect is Angela Jackson, a former UP Integrated School spiker, who at 20 years old, is the youngest applicant in the draft class.
Two Filipino-American setters with notable overseas experience will also be throwing their names into the mix: 6-foot-1 Alohi Robins-Hardy and Central Washington University standout Tia Andaya, both aiming to secure contracts and roles with PVL clubs.
From the NCAA, College of Saint Benilde’s Season 97 MVP Mycah Go leads a group of 17 players.
She will be joined by Arellano’s Kristine Adante, Cherry Mae Cuenca, and Pauline De Guzman; Letran’s Angelique Ledesma and Lea Tapang; EAC’s Jhan Pauline Fortuno and Jamaica Villena; JRU’s Maliey Amante, Karyla Jasareno, and Jerry Lyn Laurente; Lyceum’s Zonxi Jane Dahab and Joan Doguna; San Beda’s Jan Gregorio and Reyann Canete; San Sebastian’s Von Dimaculangan; and Perpetual Help’s Winnie Bedana.
Four Fil-Canadian prospects are also part of this year’s final draft list: Yveian Orpiano (Concordia University of Edmonton), Reinali Calisin (Lawrence Technological University), Clara Serrano (Olds College), and Divine Cortez (University of Saskatchewan).
Each of them will look to make a mark and secure a spot in the PVL, following in the footsteps of PLDT’s Savi Davison and Creamline’s Aleiah Torres.
Among the other hopefuls are Enderun College’s Shane Carmona, Erika Deloria, and Zenneth Perolino; Ivy Aquino from the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies; Gerlie Trilles from CIT Colleges of Paniqui Foundation; Eika Bucog from Lyceum-Batangas; and 39-year-old Rose Joy Pinuela from Olivarez College.
Out of the 60 players who initially submitted applications, three failed to complete the required documents on time — Arellano’s Nenita Padua, Fil-Canadian Mary Ann Rioflorido, and University of the Cordilleras’ Ezriah Martinez — making them ineligible for Sunday’s draft proceedings.
Capital1, who won the draft lottery earlier this month, will pick first overall. Galeries Tower will select second, followed by Farm Fresh at third and NXLED at fourth.
Rounding out the first round are Zus Coffee, Cignal, Choco Mucho, Chery Tiggo, PLDT, Akari, Petro Gazz, and Creamline.
