Strong Group has been a dominant force in the National Collegiate Athletic Association over the past few seasons, asserting its presence across multiple sports.
In seniors basketball, the College of Saint Benilde has reached the finals in two of the last three seasons, showcasing the program’s consistency and growth.
Meanwhile, in juniors basketball, Colegio de San Juan de Letran captured back-to-back championships in Seasons 98 and 99.
Volleyball, too, has become a Strong Group stronghold.
The Lady Knights are the reigning three-time champions in beach volleyball and have made consecutive appearances in the women’s indoor volleyball finals.
Both the Knights and the Squires have reached the finals in their respective divisions this season.
The Lady Blazers, on the other hand, are aiming for an impressive four-peat in women’s volleyball.
Currently, both the Knights and Lady Knights trail 0-1 in their best-of-three finals series.
Still, with Vince Himzon and Vanessa Sarie leading Letran’s charge, the Arellano Chiefs and the Lady Blazers must remain vigilant — Letran is not a team to be taken lightly.
The Lady Blazers, led by veterans like Mycah Go, Zamantha Nolasco, and Wielyn Estoque, have been a dominant force in the tournament. Their experience and chemistry have made them the gold standard of the league.
All of this success reflects the vision of Strong Group chairman Frank Lao, who is committed to helping the NCAA — a league that has struggled for relevance in the past decade.
Through the Strong Group program, Lao hopes to develop not only future stars for the PVL and PBA but also athletes who can proudly represent the country on the national stage.
