Raymundo-Valbuena claim first win; keep DLSU winless

UP’s Alfred Valbuena and Julius Raymundo contolled the action at the net and took down the DLSU Spikers, 21-14, 21-19 at the UE sandcourts.

Both coming off losses earlier in the day, the lengthier UP tandem opened the game with noticably more energy as they stifled La Salle’s offense at the net. UP would build an early five-point advantage early in the first set and kept La Salle from coming close.

DLSU’s Mike Frey and Levin Dimayuga cleaned up their act in the second set and kept it close throughout but would later crumble with untimely errors, leaving day 2 of the beach volleyball season still with no wins.

RECORD:

UP:1-2
DLSU: 0-3

 AGGREGATE SCORE:

UP: 42
DLSU: 33

 TOTAL MATCH TIME: 38 mins
